The Evolution of Saliva Drug Testing: From Oral Cube to T-Square

When we first started selling the Oral Cube Saliva Drug Test, it quickly became one of our most popular testing kits. The test was brilliantly simple – you’d place a sponge collector swab in someone’s mouth for three minutes, pop it into the collection cube, and wait for the results. We’ve tested thousands of people using this method, and our customers loved its straightforward approach.

Why We Used to Love the Oral Cube

The Oral Cube’s design made it perfect for testing multiple employees efficiently. Many of our customers chose it specifically because, unlike urine testing, they could test their entire workforce without the logistical headaches. You didn’t need special collection areas or same-sex supervisors – common requirements that made urine testing more complicated and costly.

The test proved nearly impossible to cheat. Unlike urine tests, where people might try all sorts of tricks, the Oral Cube required the donor to be right there in front of you. You’d watch them put the swab in their mouth, and three minutes later, you’d have your answer.

Our customers particularly liked testing for seven substances at once: Amphetamines (Speed), Benzodiazepines, Cannabis, Cocaine, Methadone, Methamphetamines, and Opiates. The results appeared almost instantly – no sending samples to labs or waiting for days.

Why We’ve Switched to the T-Square Test

Since the Oral Cube was discontinued, we’ve spent months testing different alternatives. The 12 Panel T-Square Saliva Test Kit stood out as the clear winner. It’s actually better than the Oral Cube in several ways. When customers ask about the Oral Cube now, they’re often pleased to learn that the T-Square offers more comprehensive testing capabilities.

What Makes the T-Square Special

First off, it tests for everything the Oral Cube did, plus THC, PCP (angel dust), Ketamine (Special K), MDMA (Ecstasy), and Buprenorphine. We’ve had companies switch to these tests specifically because they needed to check for K2/Spice, which wasn’t possible with the old Oral Cube.

The results are dead simple to read – you get two lines for negative, one line for positive. Even a faint line counts as negative, which was sometimes confusing with the old test. I’ve had countless conversations explaining that to customers over the years!

Real-World Testing Experience

We’ve been in the drug testing business since 2005, and we’ve supplied drug testing solutions to organisations of all sizes. The T-Square test is particularly effective for workplace testing scenarios where multiple people need to be tested efficiently.

The test takes 5 minutes – a bit longer than the Oral Cube’s 3 minutes – but you get more accurate results and can detect more substances. Plus, you don’t need any special training. We’ve supplied these to construction sites, transport companies, and even small businesses who want to start drug testing programmes.

Getting Started with Saliva Testing

If you’re new to drug testing, here’s what you need to know: saliva tests can detect most drugs used within the last 24-48 hours. Cannabis shows up for about 24 hours, while harder drugs like cocaine and amphetamines might show up for 2-3 days. We always tell customers to call us if they’re unsure about detection windows – it’s better to ask than guess.

A Word About Support

Every week, we get calls from companies asking about drug testing. Some want to know if they can test everyone at once (yes, with saliva tests you can), others worry about privacy (much less of an issue than with urine testing), and many just want to know how accurate these tests are (over 99% accurate, as it happens).

We don’t just sell you the tests and wave goodbye. We’ve helped hundreds of companies set up their testing programmes. Sometimes it’s as simple as showing them how to read the results properly, other times we help write their entire drug testing policy.

The T-Square might not be the cheapest option out there, but it’s the one we trust. After all, when you’re testing someone’s livelihood, you want to be absolutely sure you’re getting it right.
